While in Yellowstone national park, I was fascinated by the colors and shapes produced by the geothermal activity that makes the park famous. I particularly love the colors and shapes in this photograph.

My favorite parts of this photograph are the way the sun-lit background contrasts with the grasses in shade. As the move further away from the camera they go out of focus, creating a beautiful dreamlike and soft texture that particularly appeals to me.
