Fog covered forests and waterfalls

Untouched Wilderness

This forest-covered mountain with its peak enshrouded in fog is untouched by civilization. I was intrigued by the remoteness and untouched nature of the area, as well as the temporary waterfalls created by the spring snowmelt. With an area so remote that roads are impossible, the only way for humans to access it is by either plane or boat. To see this moment required booking a floatplane to fly me through fog-covered mountain peaks and land on the water in this stunning ocean fjord.  It was a cold Spring morning with water and air temperatures just above freezing. To photograph the scene from ground level required me to get out of the plane and balance on the float, just above the water surface, while using part of the plane as a makeshift tripod.
